Charlotte Grist Smith
Charlotte is the Managing Attorney and Founding Member of Javelin Law. She excels at advocating for employers on Workers' Compensation and Employment Law issues. She has extensive experience representing clients at the Department of Labor and Industries, Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals and Superior Court levels on Workers' Compensation matters. For employment law matters, she has experience at the administrative level with discrimination claims, and experience drafting forms, policies, procedures and handbooks. Charlotte has more than fifteen years experience in Workers’ Compensation and Employment Law in Washington State and presents on Workers’ Compensation and Employment Law issues.
Charlotte is happy to help clients on any Workers' Compensation, WISHA or Employment Law issues. If there is any issue outside of her practice areas, she will gladly connect clients with legal professionals in her network who practice in the appropriate area of law.
Charlotte graduated from Boston University’s College of Communication with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism in 2004. She graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2009. She spent her third year of law school at Seattle University School of Law as a visiting student. Charlotte loves the Pacific Northwest and has experience volunteering for the Washington State Bar Association’s Pro Bono and Public Service Committee, the King County Bar Association’s Neighborhood Legal Clinics Program and Washington Parks as a Forest Steward.

Brandon Rich
Brandon Rich has more than fifteen years of Civil Litigation experience. Prior to joining Javelin Law, Brandon represented plaintiffs in defective drug and medical device litigation across the country, providing him with keen insights into complex medical issues and legal advocacy. Brandon welcomes the opportunity to help Employers with complex medical claims and issues.
Since becoming an Attorney and working with a number of experienced litigators, Brandon has developed significant experience representing clients in Workers’ Compensation, WISHA, Employment Law and Personal Injury Law. He has served as a volunteer attorney with the Housing Justice Project in Seattle, a legal-aid clinic that provides advice and representation to low-income tenants facing eviction. Brandon is also a Judge in the Seattle University mock trial and appellate competitions.

Janine is a dedicated and experienced advocate on behalf of employers on Workers’ Compensation and Employment Law issues in Washington State. Since joining the firm in early 2023, she demonstrates strong commitment to comprehensive legal defense for employers.
Prior to joining Javelin Law PLLC, Janine developed a keen interest in Workers’ Compensation law through practical experience interning at a law firm specializing in Workers’ Compensation Defense.
Janine graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and East Asian Languages and Cultures and also went on to earn her Juris Doctor at Indiana University.

Noah is committed to providing quality legal representation to employers in Washington and is experienced representing employers at the Department of Labor and Industries, Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals and Superior Court levels. Noah's medical background as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for more than four years and working at an RSV vaccine research lab for more than a year provides him with an excellent foundation to tackle highly complex medical issues for employers.
Noah graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. He also attended the University of North Dakota School of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate. He became a member of the Washington State Bar Association and joined Javelin Law in early 2024.
